Mental journey

Mental journey

22.10.2020

Travelling creates new experiences, offers new perspectives and new points of view. In order to achieve these outcomes, one does not necessarily have to leave the immediate surroundings. Not every journey challenges us physically. Reading travelogues or looking at pictures of exotic plants lets us go on mental journeys, to distant countries and past eras, or to the very personal place we long for. The mental journey has no boundaries, no distance, and no obstacles.

Following the fictitious or virtual journeys of the artists on the second route offers new insights into personal experiences and expeditions to new worlds of thought. Faced with an uncertain future of travelling, imaginary places, fictitious landscapes, and constructed worlds can be a restorative alternative.
