Interview with Fabian Knecht
How did you experience Fred’s last journey?
I would like to leave the focus on the work, and not bring so much background information into the work and thus drift into sentimentality. The less you know about Fred, the more you ask yourself, and the unknown is, after all, part of death. It also makes it much easier to put yourself in Fred’s shoes.
Are you planning similar projects?
I did a similar project in 2012. I poured snow from the summit of Mount Everest into the Dead Sea. The work is called Depression.
