Interview with Via Lewandowsky

You call yourself Via – the way. What does that mean to you?

First of all, it means that I get a lot of letters with the name Ms. Via Lewandowsky on them. Which, of course, was not the focus of my original intention. But it was already clear to me that this would become an important statement of this short artistic manifesto. Today – 35 years later – that’s exactly what’s more relevant than ever.

Where have you never been?

It would be easier for me to answer the question of where I have already been. On the other hand, there’s hardly a place I haven’t been in my mind.

Where will you be travelling to next?

To Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate.

How many stamps are in your passport?

I now have a new passport with a digital fingerprint. So completely unstamped, it still smells like a freshly printed book. The travel stories have to be written again.
